Man charged with criminal damage to Ipswich Police Station

A man has been charged following an incident at Ipswich Police Station this morning.
Shortly after 2am today, Friday 28 August, the glass in the front door of the police station on Princes Street was smashed.
A man was arrested at the scene and taken to Martlesham Police Investigation Centre for questioning.
Thomas Jeffries, aged 36 and of no fixed abode, was subsequently charged with criminal damage.
He has been bailed with conditions and is due to appear at Ipswich Magistrates’ Court on Monday 19 October.
Ipswich Police Station remained closed today, however the doors have now been repaired and the station will be open from 9am tomorrow, Saturday 29 August, as usual.
