Two arrested for attempted murder after hit-and-run in Ipswich
Police seek witnesses in incident believed to involve known parties
Two men have been arrested on suspicion of attempted murder following a violent collision in Ipswich, where a 20-year-old man sustained life-changing injuries after being hit by a car.
The incident occurred just before 10pm on 19th June outside the Co-Op on Fircroft Road. It followed a reported altercation between the victim and the occupants of a white Volkswagen Polo, where the driver allegedly drove at the man, trapping him against a wall.
The suspects abandoned the vehicle and fled the scene. It is believed that the individuals involved are known to each other.
Victim and arrests
The victim was transported to hospital with serious open leg fractures and remains in stable condition.
Shortly after the incident, police apprehended two 20-year-old men in the vicinity on attempted murder charges. Additionally, two other men aged 20 were arrested on suspicion of possession with intent to supply Class A and Class B drugs. All four are currently being questioned at the Martlesham Police Investigation Centre.
