Teenager charged for Ipswich drug supply offences

He was found in possession of Class A drugs and an offensive weapon

A 19-year-old man has been charged in connection with drug supply offences following an incident in Ipswich which involved a person being seen on a roof.

Emergency services including the ambulance and fire service were in attendance at the incident when a man was seen to climb onto a roof in Charles English Close at around 11.20am on Saturday 20 September.

The situation was safely resolved shortly before 6pm that day.

The man, aged 19, was subsequently arrested on suspicion of being concerned in the supply of a controlled drug, possession of Class A drugs, possession of an offensive weapon and recall to prison.

He was initially taken to hospital before being taken to Martlesham Police Investigation Centre for questioning.

Mason McGarry, of Lightfoot House in Ipswich, has since been charged with the supply of a controlled drug and possession of Class A drugs and released under investigation for being in possession of an offensive weapon.

McGarry appeared before Ipswich Magistrates’ Court on Tuesday 23 September, where he was remanded in custody ahead of his appearance at Ipswich Magistrates on 1 October 2025.
