Ipswich councillor broke conduct rules, committee finds
He must apologise and complete training after disclosing confidential information
An Ipswich councillor has been found to have breached conduct rules.
The decision came after a meeting on 19th August 2026, where a complaint about Ian Fisher's actions was reviewed.
The Audit & Governance Committee identified two specific breaches: sharing confidential information and tarnishing the council's reputation.
As a result, Councillor Fisher is required to apologise in writing to the Council, which will be shared with all councillors.
He also has to undergo training on how to handle confidential information.
The council's leaders are advised not to consider him for a role on the Executive until these tasks are completed.
