Two homes devastated by fire in Cockfield
Emergency crews spent hours bringing the flames under control
Two homes in Suffolk have been fully engulfed in flames after a fire spread from one property to the neighbouring house.
Emergency crews, including police, fire, and ambulance services, arrived at Felsham Road in Cockfield just before 9pm on Wednesday night (19 Aug).
According to fire services, seven fire engines, an enhanced rescue tender, and an aerial ladder platform are among the appliances on site to tackle the blaze.
At 10:48pm, the fire was reported to be out in both properties, although damping down operations were still underway using hose reel jets and 45mm jets.
Crews from Clare, Hadleigh, and Sudbury Fire Stations have been released from the scene, while a fire appliance from Newmarket was scheduled to arrive at midnight to provide relief to existing crews.
Police have cordoned off the area, and UK Power Networks have been asked to attend. Police will maintain an overnight guard at the affected properties.
A stop was called at 11:52pm, indicating no additional appliances will be needed beyond those already directed to the scene or scheduled for relief.
