A man's death in Ipswich is being treated as 'suspicious' by police

Police are investigating the death of a man in Ipswich.

The man, aged in his 40s, died in the hospital yesterday. Police are treating the death as suspicious. A Home Office post-mortem is to be carried out tomorrow.

As part of police enquiries, officers are investigating an altercation and assault that is reported to have taken place in the Ulster Avenue and Waterford Road areas of Whitehouse last month.

Police believe an altercation took place shortly before 4.50pm on Friday 25 July on Ulster Avenue. A short time later, an assault was reported on Waterford Road.

On the 26th of July, an adult male and a teenage boy were arrested on suspicion of assault causing grievous bodily harm and were subsequently released on police bail until 6 October.

Today, the pair were arrested on suspicion of murder and are currently being questioned at Martlesham Police Investigation Centre.

Police would like to speak to anyone who was in the area of Ulster Avenue and Waterford Road on the 25th July who may have information regarding the man’s death or the incident in either Ulster Avenue or Waterford Road.
