Flood alert for the Suffolk and Essex coast from Felixstowe to Clacton

High tides, strong winds and large waves could lead to flooding

High tides and strong winds mean a flood alert's in place along the Suffolk and Essex coast, from Felixstowe to Clacton.

Flood gates are closed at Felixstowe seafront and people are being asked to steer clear of coastal roads and paths, with flooding possible through the early afternoon.

The flood gates at Felixstowe seafront will be closed.

The waterfront at Pin Mill, and The Strand at Wherstead under the Orwell Bridge may be flooded. Water may be on the quay at Mistley.

The environment agency says they are closely monitoring the situation.
