Woman charged with arson after fire destroys two homes in Cockfield

The fire started in one home before quickly spreading to another

A 35-year-old woman has been charged with arson with intent to endanger life following a house fire in Cockfield.

Elisha Nelson, from Bury St Edmunds, is due to appear at Ipswich Magistrates’ Court today (21 August).

The fire broke out on the night of the 19th August and spread to a neighbouring property, engulfing both homes.

Emergency services, including police, fire, and ambulance, attended the scene.

Fire crews from multiple stations, including Hadleigh, Long Melford, Sudbury, and Ipswich East, responded with specialist vehicles and equipment to tackle the blaze.
