Suffolk Police are appealing for witnesses after a cash machine was ripped out of a wall in Beccles.

Officers were called out to the Nationwide Building Society in New Market shortly before 3am (4 March).

A telehandler was used to ram the front of the building and then rip the cash machine out of the wall, which was then dragged out and loaded into a dark-coloured van, possibly a Ford Transit.

Police say officers carried out searches in the area but the getaway vehicle was not found.

The telehandler is believed to have been stolen from a farm in Ringsfield and was abandoned at the scene.

Anyone with information should contact Suffolk Police.
