Fire crews tackle a caravan blaze in Lakenheath

Firefighters have spent the morning tackling a caravan fire in Lakenheath.

Fire crews from Suffolk, Norfolk and the United States Air Force Mildenhall Fire Department (USAF) were called out to Undley Road to a blaze involving a static caravan, outbuildings, fencing, and nearby vegetation.

Firefighters utilised hose reels, jets, and water from a USAF bowser in their efforts to control the fire and prevent its spread.

The East of England Ambulance Service treated two casualties at the scene, while police and UK Power Networks managed road closures and the overhead power lines' safety.

The incident is ongoing, with fire crews working to extinguish remaining hotspots and ensuring the area is secure.
