More than 1,000 plants seized from cannabis factory in Bury St Edmunds

No arrests have been made and an investigation is underway

Police have uncovered a cannabis factory in Bury St Edmunds.

It follows a warrant conducted at a property on Sunday 9 February at Ridley Road under Section 23 Misuse of Drugs Act.

The Kestrel team recovered a cannabis grow containing a total of 1,072 cannabis plants, as well as a large quantity of cannabis packaged for onward sale. A large sum of cash was also seized from the address, estimated to be in the region of £16,000.

A quantity of high value items were also seized as part of the ongoing investigation including a motorbike.

No arrests have yet been made and enquiries into who is responsible are on-going.

Anyone who knows anything about this incident or has seen any suspicious behaviour in the area leading up to the discovery is urged to get in touch with police.
