A man has been hospitalised following a fire at a warehouse in Bury St Edmunds.

The incident on Olding Road involved a cherry picker catching fire, prompting an emergency response on Tuesday morning (13 October).

Firefighters from Bury St Edmunds used two hose reel jets and breathing apparatus to combat the blaze and an additional smaller fire in a neighbouring disused storage area.

UK Power Networks were called in to isolate a nearby transformer, ensuring the area was safe for fire crews to work.

The injured man was assessed on site before being taken to the hospital for burn injuries.

Firefighters reported a stop to the firefighting efforts at 12:25pm.
