Smoke warnings issued after Bures St Mary barn fire
People are being urged to keep their windows and doors shut.
Fire crews responded to a significant blaze at a barn in Bures St Mary early this morning (13th February 2026)
The barn, measuring approximately 10m by 20m, was completely engulfed.
Firefighters from Nayland, Sudbury, and Leiston tackled the fire using two hose reel jets and two main jets.
No injuries were reported as a result of the blaze.
The situation was controlled by 8:42am, however, some fire crew members remained at the scene to ensure the area was adequately dampened down.
Due to low lying smoke caused by weather conditions, authorities are advising local residents to keep their windows and doors shut until the situation is fully resolved.
Traffic is also encouraged to avoid the area as a precaution.
