A man has been seriously injured following a major blaze on High Street in Lakenheath.
Firefighters from Haverhill, Ixworth, Brandon, Mildenhall, and Newmarket stations attended the scene at 11.20pm last night (29 January).
Multiple emergency calls reported a barn, completely engulfed in flames.
The building's roof collapsed, making it unsafe, and crews established an exclusion zone for safety.
Firefighting was carried out externally using multiple hose lines, with teams remaining on site overnight to deal with hotspots and monitor the situation.
Police officers assisted by closing roads, which were scaled back during the early hours of this morning, with Back Street remaining closed at this time.
Firefighters rescued the injured man, believed to be in his 20s, from the fire.
Ambulance crews provided care and the victim has been taken to hospital for treatment to severe burns.
Emergency services remain on the scene while efforts are made to ensure the fire is extinguished and the building is safe to enter.
