Man arrested after armed police respond to threats in Brandon
Incident on Yew Drive safely resolved after overnight response
A man has been arrested following an incident involving armed police at a block of flats in Brandon.
Officers were called to Yew Drive before 10.10pm yesterday (28 January) after reports of a man making threats to harm himself and others.
When police arrived, the man threatened officers while continuing to make threats towards himself.
The incident involved armed police, negotiators, as well as ambulance and fire crews, and was safely resolved by 9am on 29th January.
A man in his 30s was arrested on suspicion of making threats to kill and taken to Bury St Edmunds Police Investigation Centre for questioning.
Police will remain in the area to offer reassurance, and anyone with concerns is encouraged to speak to officers in the vicinity.
