Baby boom at Banham Zoo as rare species thrive
Adorable arrivals bring hope for endangered species
Banham Zoo is celebrating a conservation baby boom, welcoming everything from red panda twins and cotton-top tamarin twins to flamingo chicks, penguin eggs, and even critically endangered stick insects.
Highlights include panda cubs born to Jasper and Lu, flamingo chicks named Ghost, Habanero and Reaper, and scarlet ibis chicks affectionately called Prawn and Squid.
Zoo animal manager Deborah Harris said: “Every chick, pup and cub is a symbol of hope for its species and the result of our team’s tireless care.”
Visitors this summer can spot the adorable new arrivals while directly supporting vital global conservation efforts.
