Appeal after serious assault in Ipswich
It happened last Saturday
Police are appealing for witnesses and information, after a serious assault in Ipswich last weekend.
It happened at approximately 8pm on Saturday 7 June, near to the One Stop shop on Cambridge Drive.
Officers received a report from a member of the public who witnessed a male pedestrian being struck by a black car, which then drove off. It is believed that there were two males in the vehicles at the time. The victim sustained significant injuries which required medical treatment.
Two men have now been arrested, on suspicion of causing grievous bodily harm, in connection with the incident.
A 22-year-old man from Ipswich was arrested in the Chantry area of Ipswich shortly before midday yesterday, Thursday 12 June.
A 28-year-old man from Ipswich was arrested in Felixstowe a short time later, before 3pm.
Both men have been taken to Martlesham Police Investigation Centre, where they will questioned by detectives investigating the full circumstances of the incident.
Police would like to hear from anyone who witnessed the incident, or who has home doorbell footage from the time, or from any drivers who may have relevant dash-cam footage.
