Appeal after men try to snatch teenage girl in Ipswich

Police are appealing for witnesses and information after a reports of two men trying to snatch a teenage girl in Ipswich.

At around 11.20am yesterday (6 February) two males in a blue car reportedly approached a girl on Felixstowe Road near the junction with Hines Road.

Police said they asked her to get into the vehicle, but she refused and ran off towards Murray Road Park.

The men are then reported to have run after the girl, before she screamed and they drove off. The girl was left shaken but unhurt.

The first suspect is described as a black male, aged in his late teens or early 20s, with afro-styled, dark-coloured hair, wearing a black ski mask, a black puffer jacket and grey trousers.

The second suspect is described as a white male, also aged in his late teens to early 20s, with blonde hair and of a medium build, wearing a light-grey Nike Tech tracksuit.

Additional police patrols will be conducted in the area.

Suffolk Police are appealing for any witnesses to the incident or anyone that may have seen the two men in the area around the time.

Anyone with a dash-camera driving in the area at the time or residents with CCTV or video doorbell cameras are asked to review their footage and report anything to police.
