A14 closed in both directions after serious collision in Suffolk
Traffic affected near Bury St Edmunds with diversions in place
Traffic is severely disrupted near Bury St Edmunds as the A14 remains closed in both directions following a serious collision.
The closure impacts traffic from junction 43 on the A134 Compiegne Way to junction 44 on the A134 Moreton Hall.
Congestion is extending back to junction 45 near Rougham, with queues forming on the A143 Compiegne Way and Orttewell Road as drivers try to divert via Moreton Hall.
The road has been closed since 2:30 am today, and while there is hope of reopening the westbound lanes soon, the eastbound lanes towards Ipswich will remain closed for the time being.
Motorists have been advised to follow diversion routes through the town via the A1302 Parkway.
