18-year-old man arrested following alleged rape in Lowestoft
A woman in her 20s was allegedly assaulted in an alleyway during the early hours of this morning

An 18-year-old man has been arrested by police following a reported rape in Lowestoft in the early hours of this morning (Sunday 5 April).
According to initial reports, the incident occurred at around 0:10am. A woman in her 20s and a friend got into a taxi at the Blues pub when an unknown man also entered the vehicle.
The taxi later stopped near The Volunteer pub on London Road North, where both the woman and the man got out and walked towards Milton Road East.
It is reported that the man led the woman into a nearby alleyway close to the junction of Arnold Street, where the assault took place.
Afterwards, the suspect reportedly fled on foot, running along London Road North before turning onto Gordon Road.
Police have arrested an 18-year-old man from Lowestoft on suspicion of rape and will be questioned at Great Yarmouth Police Investigation Centre.
A police scene is currently in place and there will be a higher police presence in the area.
Any witnesses or those who hold dashcam or CCTV footage are being urged to contact police in order to support their investigation.
