Our friends at Dogs Trust want to know all about the paw-some pups in your life!

The National Dog Survey 2025 is Britain’s largest dog census and is your chance to tell the charity what dogs mean to you – even if you’re not a pet owner yourself.

This year’s survey focuses on the everyday joy dogs bring us as a nation; from waggy walks in the park to snuggles on the sofa!

A massive 373,000 people took part in last year’s survey, revealing some fascinating facts including:

89% of owners said owning a dog makes them more active

Half of owners (52%) said they struggle with their dog’s barking

96% of owners said owning a dog is good for their mental health

80% of dog owners said they were confident in reading their dog’s body language (yet only a quarter (24%) could consistently identify what a worried dog looked like!)

The National Dog Survey helps Dogs Trust to shape its services and support for the 13 million dogs and their owners in the UK.

This year’s survey is now open - and the charity is inviting everyone in the UK to take part, whether you’re a dog owner, dog lover or simply someone who admires dogs from afar!
