Woman dies after crash in Stoke

A woman's died after a fail-to-stop collision in Stoke-on-Trent.

It happened on the junction of South Drive of Carmountside Crematorium and Leek Road, Milton just after 8am.

The collision involved a pedestrian, a woman in her 70s, and what is described as a small blue/grey car similar in size to a Renualt Clio, or ford Fiesta.

The driver of the car did not stop and left the scene, heading towards Abbey Hulton.

The pedestrian was taken to hospital but died shortly afterwards from her injuries.

Anyone with information is being urged to contact officers on 101.
