Paige Brookes, 24, of Stafford, appeared at the North Staffordshire Justice Centre on 31 January, where she pleaded guilty to one count of dangerous driving and failing to stop for officers.

The court heard that on 3 September last year, Brookes failed to stop her yellow Chevrolet coupe when requested to do so by specialist officers on Silkmore Road in Stafford.

She then drove above the speed limit and failed to navigate a mini roundabout, before colliding with pedestrian railings.

Brookes has been released on bail ahead of a sentencing hearing at Cannock Magistrates’ Court on 20 March.

PC Groves, of the Stafford Local Policing Team, who attended the incident, said:

“Brookes showed a complete disregard for her own and other road users’ safety when she drove dangerously that day, causing havoc.

“It’s only good fortune that she didn’t collide with a pedestrian or other vehicle.

“I am pleased she admitted the offences and hope this shows to others how we will prosecute anyone risking the lives of others on Staffordshire’s roads.”
