Trading Standards in Staffordshire are warning people about illegal skin-lightening products being sold on the high street and online.

Officers say some creams contain banned chemicals like mercury and hydroquinone, which can cause serious health problems including skin damage and infections.

People are urged never to buy from unverified sellers or social media and to always check with a doctor before using any skin-lightening products.

Anyone with concerns is asked to report it to Citizens Advice or Trading Standards.
