Three arrests after reports rifles stolen in Stoke caravan burglary

Armed officers were called to search a vehicle after it happened on Wednesday afternoon

Three men have been arrested following a burglary in Stoke-on-Trent.

Staffordshire Police says it received a report that two air rifles were taken after a man broke into a caravan in Pinfold Avenue, Norton, just before 12.20pm on Wednesday 20 May.

Armed officers stopped and searched a vehicle on Sandbach Road in Burslem at around 1.30pm, but no weapons were found.

A 36-year-old man, a 49-year-old man and a 23-year-old man, all from the Stoke-on-Trent area, have been arrested on suspicion of burglary.

They remain in custody while our enquiries continue.
