Third man charged following Longton stabbings

A third man has been charged after two others were stabbed during a fight in Longton, Stoke-on-Trent, police say.

Emergency services were called out to The Strand at around 11.45am on Saturday (6 June).

They'd had reports of a group of people fighting with weapons in the street.

Two men were taken to hospital with injuries, and are now in a stable condition.

Police have now confirmed that Leo Mhillaj, 40, of Hanley, Stoke-on-Trent, has been charged with two counts of attempted murder, two counts of possessing an offensive weapon in a public place and one count of violent disorder.

Others previously charged

Aldo Hala, 22, of Goldenhill, Stoke-on-Trent, charged with two counts of Section 18 – wounding, one count of violent disorder and one count of possessing an offensive weapon in a public place.

Konstandin Kola, 28, of Penkhull, Stoke-on-Trent, charged with two counts of Section 18 – wounding with intent, one count of violent disorder, driving a motor vehicle dangerously and using a motor vehicle without third party insurance.

Mhillaj, Hala and Kola have all been remanded in custody ahead of their next appearance at Stoke-on-Trent Crown Court on 6 July.
