Man jailed after setting fire to house and bins in Stoke-on-Trent
Teenager admitted two arson offences after fires in Longton last summer.
A 19-year-old man has been jailed after setting two fires in Stoke-on-Trent last summer.
Scott Shaw, from Longton, was sentenced to three years and four months in a young offenders institution at Stoke-on-Trent Crown Court after admitting arson and arson with recklessness as to whether life was endangered.
One of the fires involved bins on Albert Street, while another was at a house on Plant Street, where a man suffered minor burns.
Police and Staffordshire Fire and Rescue Service attended both incidents. CCTV footage later helped officers identify Shaw, who admitted starting the fires when questioned.
Detectives say the fires put several people at risk and warned that deliberate fire-setting will be taken seriously.
