Teen jailed for attempting to smuggle ketamine into Creamfields festival
Reece Robertson sentenced to 20 weeks in prison
A 19-year-old has been sentenced to 20 weeks in prison for trying to smuggle illegal drugs into Creamfields music festival in Daresbury.
Reece Robertson was sentenced at Chester Crown Court on 30th January, after pleading guilty to possession with intent to supply class B drugs, specifically ketamine.
The court heard that Robertson, of no fixed abode, attempted to enter the Northgate entrance of Creamfields on 25th August 2024, when a drugs dog alerted officers to his possession of illegal substances.
A search revealed eight bags of ketamine hidden in his buttocks, valued at up to £320.
Although Robertson claimed the drugs were for personal use, his mobile phone analysis revealed plans to sell them at the festival.
Police Constable Lisa Green described the preventative measures at festivals to deter drug smuggling and emphasised the risks associated with ketamine use.
