Teenager named as four arrests made after fatal Stoke-on-Trent crash

A 17-year-old boy who died after being hit by a car in Stoke-on-Trent has now been named as Alex Woodward, from Bucknall.
The incident happened at around 6.05pm on Dawlish Drive in Bentilee on Friday, 17th October, with police called to reports that a teenage boy had been hit by a car.
Alex Woodward died from his injuries in the early hours of the following morning, Saturday 18th October.
Police say specialist officers are supporting his family as investigations continue.
Four people arrested as enquiries continue
Two boys, aged 17 and 16 and both from Stoke-on-Trent, were arrested on suspicion of causing death by dangerous driving.
Both have been released under investigation.
On Sunday, 19th October, officers arrested another 17-year-old boy from Stoke-on-Trent, also on suspicion of causing death by dangerous driving. He remains in custody.
A fourth arrest was made on Monday, 20th October, with a 20-year-old woman from an area near Werrington now in custody on suspicion of dangerous driving and perverting the course of justice.
Appeal for information and footage
Detectives are asking anyone who witnessed the collision, or who may have CCTV, dashcam or doorbell footage from the area around the time, to contact them.
