Stoke-on-Trent man jailed for 32 months for breaching sex offender requirements
Mark Sproston's non-compliance leads to second prison sentence
Mark Sproston, a 51-year-old resident of Smallthorne, Stoke-on-Trent, has been sentenced to two years and eight months in prison for failing to comply with sex offender register requirements.
Sproston was apprehended in May last year after intelligence revealed he was residing at an address housing children, which violated the conditions of his register requirements.
His sentence was delivered at Stoke-on-Trent Crown Court on 14th September following his admission of two counts of failing to adhere to the notification requirements.
Detective Sergeant Paul Edwards from the Management of Sexual Offenders and Violent Offenders team (MOSOVO) underscored the importance of proactive enforcement.
"This case demonstrates the robust action officers are taking against any registered sex offenders in Staffordshire breaching their requirements," Edwards stated.
The dedicated efforts to ensure registry requirements are followed aim to quickly address potential risks in Staffordshire involving registered sex offenders.
West Mercia Police continues to prioritize public safety and compliance through vigilant monitoring and swift action.
