Staffordshire police arrest 30 in monkey dust crackdown
Operation Rivent seizes drugs, weapons, and cash
Over the past six months, Staffordshire police have arrested more than 30 individuals and seized approximately 25 kilograms of suspected monkey dust in an operation targeting illegal substances.
Operation Rivent, a force priority, has primarily focused on Stoke-on-Trent and Stafford, carrying out around 35 arrests and disrupting the supply chain in 52 instances.
The initiative also prioritised safeguarding efforts, providing protection to around 17 women and numerous children.
Significant seizures have included monkey dust, firearms, weapons, and cash.
Among those apprehended, seven were women, with one woman being arrested on two occasions for related offences.
The operation is highlighted by the receipt of 138 intelligence reports concerning monkey dust supply in the region.
In addition to drugs, police seized four vehicles and three firearms.
Superintendent Phil Bryan, leading Operation Rivent, said: “Operation Rivent has generated positive outcomes through arrests, seizures, safeguarding and intelligence development, enhancing the understanding of local supply networks and creating further opportunities for disruption and enforcement.”
The operation will continue to target supply networks and safeguard vulnerable people throughout the remainder of 2026.
