Man charged after hitting teenage boy with car
The pedestrian was taken to hospital with serious head injuries
A man has been charged after a car collided with a pedestrian in Stoke-on-Trent.
Police were called at 6.30pm on Monday night (4 August) to reports of a non-stop collision on College Road, Shelton, near to The Thomas Boughey Children’s Centre.
A pedestrian, a teenage boy, was taken to hospital with serious head injuries.
His condition is described as critical but stable.
Brwa Abdulla, 18, of Shelton, Stoke-on-Trent, has been charged with grievous bodily harm with intent, drive a vehicle dangerously and driver of a vehicle fail to stop after a road accident.
A 20-year-old man, from Stoke-on-Trent, who was arrested yesterday morning has been released on conditional bail as enquiries continue.
A 41-year-old man, from Stoke-on-Trent, was arrested yesterday evening on suspicion of intent to pervert the course of justice and possession of a knife blade in a public place. He was also released on conditional bail.
Abdulla is due to appear at the North Staffordshire Justice Centre today (Wednesday 6 August).
