Port Vale FC have confirmed that coach Simon Ireland has left the club.

He's left his role as a member of Jon Brady's first-team coaching staff for a new job closer to where he lives.

Simon joined the club in February last year.

His efforts were vital in the club's promotion from Sky Bet League Two, the club say.

A spokesperson for Port Vale FC said: "Everyone at Port Vale Football Club would like to thank Simon for his hard work and commitment and wish him every success in the next stage of his career."
