Attempted murder arrest after reported stabbing in Newcastle-under-Lyme

A man has been arrested on suspicion of attempted murder after another man was stabbed in Newcastle-under-Lyme, officers say.

Emergency services were called out to Silverdale Road at 7.05am today (7 May) after receiving reports a man had been stabbed.

The victim was taken to hospital with minor injuries.

A 25-year-old man from Newcastle-under-Lyme has been arrested on suspicion of attempted murder.

He's currently in police custody.

The force say the reported stabbing is being treated as an isolated incident and that the pair are known to each other.

Investigators are appealing for anyone with information on the incident to call 101, quoting incident 92 of 7 May.
