Two attempted murder arrests after reports of assault in Stoke-on-Trent

Two men are being questioned on suspicion of attempted murder after a man was reportedly seriously assaulted in Stoke-on-Trent.

A 53-year-old man and a 52-year-old man, both from Stoke-on-Trent, were arrested yesterday (10 May) following an incident.

Emergency services say they were called out to Bucknall New Road in Hanley following concerns for the welfare of a man.

Officers found a man in his 30s on Hillcrest Street with a serious head injury.

He was taken to hospital where he remains in a stable condition.

Officers say they then received reports that the assault had happened on Wellington Street.

The two suspects were arrested not long after.

Investigators are urging anyone with information or CCTV footage which could assist in the investigation to call 101 quoting incident number 517 of 10 May.
