A man from Sandbach has been sentenced to 35 months in jail for possession of Class A drugs with intent to supply.

Robert Yates, 60, appeared at Chester Crown Court after pleading guilty to dealing cocaine.

The arrest took place following a warrant executed on 9th June at an address on Union Street, Sandbach.

During the search, officers seized various items including digital scales, mobile phones, drug paraphernalia, cash, drugs, and a sword.

The drugs were assessed by an expert to have a street value of £40,200, leading to Yates' arrest and subsequent charge.

Sgt Craig Hodson commented on the conviction:

“This is just one of many warrants local policing units carry out in order to disrupt illegal drug supplies and make life difficult for dealers.

We will continue in our efforts to rid communities of the illegal drugs to improve our neighbourhoods."

He urged anyone with information on drug dealing to contact the police on 101 or via their website.
