A man from Biddulph who raped his partner multiple times has been jailed for ten years.
31-year-old Ryan Bedson, of Shepherd Street, was found guilty of three counts of rape despite denying the allegations.
Chester Crown Court heard how the victim was in an abusive and controlling relationship with Bedson when he raped her multiple times.
The trial involved the rape of two different women, but there was a hung jury in relation to the second woman.
DC Rachel Lloyd said despite this "both victims showed tremendous bravery in coming forward and supporting a prosecution."
She continued: “It has been a tough journey for both, and they have come a long way. Sexual violence has such a profound impact on victims that they often no longer feel like the person they were before. They’ve had the courage and strength to rebuild their lives and I have every faith that both will succeed.
“Victims should never feel ashamed to talk about what they have been subjected to. It is the perpetrator who should feel shame."
Bedson has also been handed a restraining order and ordered to sign the sex offenders register.
