A delivery driver from Manchester has been jailed for sexually assaulting a female customer in Northwich.

25-year-old Rana Jahangir, of Collington Close, Manchester, was sentenced to two years and four months in prison after being found guilty of one count of sexual assault.

The court heard how on 2nd September 2025, Jahangir delivered food to an address in Rudheath, Northwich.

After delivering the order, he grabbed the woman who ordered the food from behind and began hugging and kissing her.

The assault persisted for over a minute, despite the victim's pleas for him to stop.

Initially, the woman only chose to report the incident to the delivery company, but reported it to police after speaking with her friends.

Jahangir claimed the assault was consensual, but someone had recorded part of the incident on a phone proving otherwise.

Jahangir will be registered as a sex offender for ten years and has been issued with a restraining order against the victim.
