Police make third arrest following Longton stabbings
It follows an incident on Saturday where two people were hospitalised with stab wounds.

Police have arrested a third man in connection with two stabbings that took place in Longton at the weekend.
At 11.45am on Saturday 6th of June, officers were called out to The Strand following a report that a group of people were fighting in the street.
When they arrived along with paramedics, they found two men with stab wounds. They were taken to hospital where they remain in a stable condition.
Not long afterwards, police spotted and pursued a car that they they believed was involved in the stabbings. They chased the vehicle until it came to a stop on Grafton Road and four people got out and ran off. Two of the four were caught by officers.
Two men from Stoke-on-Trent were arrested. A 28-year-old man was arrested on suspicion of Section 18 – wounding with intent. Another man, aged 22, was arrested on suspicion of Section 18 – grievous bodily harm with intent. Both men currently remain in custody.
Following further enquiries on Saturday, officers arrested a third person. A 26-year-old man, also from Stoke-on-Trent, was arrested on suspicion of attempted murder and violent disorder. He also remains in custody.
Detective Superintendent Phil Bryan said: "We’d like to thank those who have already come forward with footage and information that has helped us with our investigation into this incident."
