People living with Parkinson’s in Cheshire are being offered new one-to-one personal training sessions to help them stay active and support their wellbeing.

The sessions have been launched by Elite Health and are designed to give people with Parkinson’s structured exercise support in a way that is accessible and tailored to individual needs.

Delivered by experienced personal trainers, the programme aims to help participants work towards their own fitness and wellbeing goals, whether that is improving strength, balance, mobility or confidence with movement.

The new offer is being supported by the National Register of Parkinson’s Specialist Personal Trainers and the Chartered Institute for the Management of Sport and Physical Activity.

Those behind the sessions say physical activity can play an important role in helping people live well with Parkinson’s.

Exercise has been linked to a range of benefits for people with the condition, including improved balance and coordination, better flexibility, increased strength and mobility, and a positive impact on mental wellbeing.

It is hoped the new sessions will make specialist fitness support more widely available to people with Parkinson’s across Cheshire and surrounding areas.

The one-to-one format means sessions can be adapted to each person’s ability, goals and confidence levels, helping them exercise in a structured and supportive environment.

Parkinson’s affects people in different ways, and organisers say tailored activity can help people maintain independence, build confidence and support day-to-day movement
