Pedestrian left with life-threatening injuries following a collision at Stafford service station

A woman has been seriously injured following a collision at a service station in Stafford.

Police were called out to the Texaco station on Lammascote Road following reports of a car being involved in a collision with a pedestrian.

It happened around 12pm yesterday (Thursday 3 April).

The pedestrian, a woman in her 60s, was taken to hospital by air ambulance.

She remains in a critical condition in hospital.

Her next of kin have been informed and are being supported by specialist officers.

A 75-year-old man, from Newcastle-under-Lyme, was arrested a short time later on suspicion of road traffic act offences.

He has since been released under investigation while inquiries continue.

Staffordshire Police said:

We are urging anyone who saw what happened or who may have relevant CCTV or dashcam footage to contact us on 101 quoting incident number 315 of 3 April.
