Warning after another deliberate fire set at Park Hall Country Park
Three others were set on Sunday 19 July
A warning has been issued after another deliberate fire was set at a Stoke-on-Trent country park.
Firefighters were called to Park Hall Country Park in Longton at around 12.15pm yesterday (Tuesday 21 July).
Five fire engines attended the scene and found multiple fires.
The largest area of fire measured around 100 metres by 100 metres.
The fire was extinguished and there were no reported injuries.
This follows three other deliberate fires started in the same park on Sunday 19 July.
A warning
Station Manager Ant Ball attended the scene. He said: “We are experiencing high demand across Staffordshire at the moment and deliberate fires significantly strain our resources.
“I would urge parents to speak to young people about the dangers of setting fires and remind people to take care in the countryside.
“People should avoid having barbeques and bonfires, ensure that all litter is put in the bin and not drop cigarettes on the ground.”
Police appeal
Officers are now appealing for anyone with CCTV, doorbell or dashcam footage of the area at the time to contact them.
Reports can be made online at https://www.staffordshire.police.uk/contact/af/contact-us-beta/contact-us/ or by calling 101, quoting incident 341 of 21 July.
