Cheshire Constabulary's Congleton Local Policing Unit has successfully dismantled a significant cannabis grow operation in Middlewich.

On 4th November, officers executed a warrant at a vacant business premises on Newton Bank following information indicating drug cultivation.

Once inside, they discovered a substantial cannabis grow set up for production on an almost industrial scale.

The grow, capable of producing up to 70kg of cannabis annually, had a potential street value of over £800,000 per year.

PC Adam Archer stated, "This operation is one of many targeting illegal drugs to keep them out of our community."

Archer highlighted the importance of ongoing efforts such as executing warrants and shutting down drug-related properties to enhance community safety.

Residents are encouraged to be aware of signs indicating a property might be used as a cannabis farm, including strong smells, unusual activity at odd hours, and excessive heat or condensation.

If you suspect a cannabis farm or drug-related activity, report it by calling 101 or providing details online.
