Man jailed for sexual assault of a child in Warrington
Terry Blackmore pleaded guilty at Liverpool Crown Court
78-year-old, Terry Blackmore, has been jailed after pleading guilty to sexually assaulting a child in Warrington.
After appearing at Liverpool Crown Court on Monday 20 October, he was sentenced to five years and 4 months in prison.
The assault had been happening over a 12-month period, starting when she was just 8 years old.
Blackmore had previously pleaded guilty to taking indecent photographs (category B and C), possession of indecent photographs, four counts of assault of a girl under 13 by touching, and assault of a girl under 13 by touching under clothing.
Detective Constable Heidi Ryder said:
“I would like to commend the victim for the bravery and courage she has shown in coming forward and talking about what happened to her.
“Nobody should have to experience what the victim has been through, and I hope that the fact that Blackmore is now behind bars will provide her with some closure.”
