58-year-old Gary Mosedale, from Blythe Bridge, has been sentenced to four years after he admitted to committing child sex offences.

He was sentenced at Stoke-on-Trent Crown Court on Tuesday 26 August after pleading guilty.

This involved the attempt to engage in sexual communication with a child, attempting to cause/incite a girl to engage in sexual activity and attempting to cause a child to watch/look at an image of sexual activity at an earlier hearing.

The offences happened between 29 May and 1 June 2024. It was followed by an investigation carried out by Staffordshire Police's Public Protection Unit (PPU), where Mosedale was arrested soon after.

Meghann Ferneyhough, from Staffordshire Police PPU, said: “We worked hard to secure evidence against Mosedale once the offences were reported to us."

“We do not underestimate the impact that child sexual offences have on communities across Staffordshire.”
