A man's been found dead at a North Staffordshire country park.

Emergency services were called to Bathpool Country Park yesterday evening around 6.50pm.

A man was pronounced deceased a short time later.

In a statement, Staffordshire Police said: "We were called at 6.50pm last night (Wednesday 23 July) to Bathpool Park in Kidsgrove.

"Sadly, a man was pronounced deceased a short time later."

"The man’s death is not being treated as suspicious and a report will be prepared for HM Coroner."

West Midlands Ambulance Service said in a statement: "We were called to a medical emergency in Bathpool Park off Peacock Hay Road in Kidsgrove at 6.50pm and sent two ambulances to the scene. On arrival, crews found a man but, sadly, it quickly became clear he could not be saved and was confirmed dead at the scene."
