Man dies following incident on A500 in Staffordshire

Police are trying to establish what happened following an incident on the A500 at Porthill.

It happened around 4.30am this morning (Tuesday 29th July).

A man, aged in his 20s, is believed to have fallen from the Porthill overbridge and collided with a white articulated LGV travelling northbound.

Sadly, the man was pronounced dead at the scene and specialist officers are supporting the family at this difficult time.

Staffordshire Police said:

"Anyone with dashcam footage or who witnessed the collision or saw either the LGV or the man beforehand is asked to call 101 quoting incident 88 of 29 July, or contact us using Live Chat on our website.
