Man dies following flat fire in Stoke-on-Trent

His family are being supported by specialist officers

A man has died following a fire at a flat in Stoke-on-Trent.

Police were called at 9am today (Tuesday 29th July) to Pool Street, Fenton, following reports of a fire.

Officers and colleagues from Staffordshire Fire and Rescue Service and West Midlands Ambulance Service went to the scene.

A man was taken to hospital with serious injuries but has sadly been confirmed deceased.

His family are being supported by specialist officers and Staffordshire police say they are working with fire investigators to determine the cause of the fire.

Staffordshire Police said:
