Man charged after firearms officers called to Crewe incident

A man has been charged after firearms officers were deployed to an address in Crewe.

Police were called at around 4pm on Monday 6th October to reports of a man possibly in possession of a weapon at a property on Nantwich Road.

Officers attended the scene and arrested two men. Following questioning, Thomas Duffy, 56, of Stalbridge Road, Crewe, was charged with affray and possession of an offensive weapon.

He has been remanded in custody and is due to appear at Chester Crown Court on Wednesday 5th November.

A 44-year-old man from Crewe was also arrested in connection with the incident and has since been released on bail pending further enquiries.
