An 18-year-old man has been charged with multiple drug offences after crack cocaine, heroin, and cash were recovered during a police operation in Burton-on-Trent.

Hamza Shazad, from Birmingham, is facing charges of being concerned in the supply of crack cocaine, being concerned in the supply of heroin, possession of criminal property, and criminal damage to a property valued under £5,000.

The charges follow an operation on Wednesday, 24 September, when officers from Staffordshire Police’s Major and Organised Crime proactive team spotted a suspicious vehicle in the area. A search led to the discovery of the drugs and £580 in cash.

Shazad appeared at North Staffordshire Justice Centre on Friday, 26 September, and has been remanded in custody. He is due to appear at Stafford Crown Court on 24 October.

Staffordshire Police say they're working proactively to act against those responsible for high harm offences and organised crime in local communities across Staffordshire.

Police efforts remain focused on disrupting organised crime and drug supply networks operating within the county.
